The Chick-fil-A Bowl committee could have an interesting decision on its hands.
Many bowl games prefer to avoid regular-season rematches, but this bowl could have the opportunity to select Florida and Miami. In Week 2, the Hurricanes beat UF 21-16 in South Florida.
The rematch issue typically comes up with South Carolina and Clemson, and in recent years there have been several ACC-SEC match-ups early in the season (some in Atlanta, the site of this bowl).
The possibility of pairing Florida and Miami is different, though. It is a heated in-state rivalry that does not happen every year. This season was the first since 2008 that the teams met, and there appears to be no chance of them playing in the regular season for the foreseeable future.
They faced each other in the 2004 Peach Bowl, a 27-10 Hurricanes victory, though they had not met in the regular season that year.
