Unlike the past two years, when there was concern about Florida even being bowl eligible, the Gators are in prime position.
At this point, they still look likely for the Chick-fil-A, but a couple of big wins in October would change that. Actually, even one win in October would be significant. After this week’s game against Kentucky (12:21 p.m., SEC Network), the Gators have a bye week before another brutal October.
They start the month Oct. 2 against No. 2 LSU. They get a light week at Vanderbilt before facing No. 7 South Carolina (Oct. 20) and No. 5 Georgia (Oct. 27).
